The MOAA Foundation is awarding 50 Community Outreach Grants totaling nearly $104,000 to 42 MOAA councils and chapters – surpassing last year’s records for the most grants and the largest amount awarded in the program’s eight-year history.
The grants support MOAA councils and chapters providing services to local military and veteran families — either directly or through partnerships with other community organizations — in one of 10 areas of critical military and veteran family need: housing, food assistance, employment, health (including behavioral health), family support, community reintegration, financial assistance, legal assistance, transportation, and crisis relief.

The 2024 grants will support veterans treatment courts, ROTC and Junior ROTC offerings, direct aid programs, as well as programs providing transition seminars, dental care, food assistance, housing, and therapy for veterans and their families.
“Our MOAA councils and chapters are paving the way for impactful, real support of the military and veterans’ community,” said Amanda Centers, MOAA vice president for Development. “Through the generosity of our donors, The MOAA Foundation is proud to support the work of our councils and chapters to ensure they can continue to make a difference in their local communities.”
