Surveys went out in December to all residents of DoD housing, an annual way for the services and housing providers to track issues and set priorities for improving accommodations in the coming year.
One member of each household should have received a link to the survey via email. Participation is voluntary, and results are confidential. Those who didn’t receive an email should reach out to their installation’s housing office for details; about 300,000 residents of all types of government-owned and privatized housing should receive the survey, according to a Military Times report.
“These surveys are one of many ways you can make your voice heard with DoD on this critical quality of life issue,” said Eryn Wagnon, MOAA’s director of government relations for military family policy and spouse programs. “Take advantage of this chance – the services use this data to help chart the course for future housing programs, so if there are improvements to be made, let your branch know.”

A bit more about the surveys, which are administered by the branches
- Army: A link to the survey went out Dec. 2 via an email from CEL & Associates, Inc., per an Army press release. Respondents have until Jan. 15 to complete the survey, which takes about 10 minutes.
- Marine Corps: Links to the surveys went out beginning Dec. 8 from Robert D. Niehaus, Inc. Survey-takers can enter a gift card raffle – regional prizes worth $50 and 10 top prizes worth $250. Questions about the 10-minute survey can be directed to Survey@RDNiehaus.com or 1-800-350-4888. The deadline is mid-January.
- Navy: The Navy’s Public-Private Venture Tenant Satisfaction Survey runs through Jan. 31. Tenants should have received an email from CEL & Associates.
- Air Force: Tenants began receiving emails from CEL & Associates on Dec. 8 and have until Jan. 22 to complete the survey. Those who didn’t get a link can email AirForceHousingSurvey@celassociates.com for assistance. The Air Force survey will cover Space Force members, according to an Air Force press release.
