Our Chapter serves to promote the purposes and objectives of the Military Officers Association of America; foster fraternal relations among retired, active and former officers of the uniformed services and their National Guard or Reserve components; protect the rights and interests of personnel of the uniformed services and their dependents and survivors; provide useful services for members and their dependents and survivors; and serve the community and the nation and such other worthy causes as may be determined by the organization.

Chapter Activities

We hold bi-monthly dinner meetings, in conjunction with the Coronado Navy League, at the Coronado Yacht Club. Our meetings are on the third Monday of even months (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec), featuring guest speakers on topics relevant to our members. In addition, the chapter supports local NJROTC programs, and Annual Scholarship Fund, holds an annual "letters to the troops program at local schools and participates in such as Coronado Concerts in the Park and other community events. Each year we dedicate our April dinner meeting for providing special recognition for graduating high school seniors who accepted appointments to one of the Service Academy’s or a ROTC program.

Legislative Issues

The Silver Strand Chapter supports the MOAA national legislative agenda and is also active in supporting Cal-MOAA in various state veterans' issues.
