The mission of our chapter is to help and support legislation designed to further a strong national defense; promote and foster better relationships between officers of all services and communities in which they live; to offer opportunities to renew old friendships and make new friends through the chapter meetings and social activities; and to stimulate an interest in a military career by providing financial scholarships to college or university students who are enrolled in an ROTC program.

Membership in our MOAA Chapter is open to anyone who holds or has ever held a commission or warrant in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and their surviving spouses. To attend a meeting as our guest, contact one of the people listed above.

The Chapter holds meetings for members and their spouses every month except July and August. Meeting are either luncheon or dinner and generally include a speaker or entertainment. Information on each meeting is in our newsletter. The Chapter supports 12 JROTC and 2 ROTC units in the MOAA Awards Program and last year awarded four $2000 scholarships to ROTC cadets.

The Chapter supports the MOAA national legislative agenda and the state council in various state veterans' issues by providing information and encouraging member support in our newsletter and at our meetings.

The Orange Empire Military Officers Club meetings for members and their spouses are typically a luncheon on the second Sunday or a dinner on the second Friday except in July and August. The typical schedule includes a social hour, the meal, and a program . Meetings are held at the Redlands Country Club. Details are announced in the chapter newsletter and at chapter meetings.

The Orange Empire Military Officers' Club was chartered in 1959. The chapter consisted of 68 members residing in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. As the membership grew, it provided the nucleus for chapters in Riverside, Palm Springs, Sun City, Hemet-San Jacinto, and the Antelope Valley. The chapter currently has 190 members including active duty, retired, and former officers of all services and their survivors.
