Mission

The objectives of the Olympia Area Chapter are to promote the purposes and objectives of the Military Officers' Association of America (MOAA; to foster fraternal relations among active, former and retired officers of the uniformed services and their National Guard or Reserve components; to protect the rights and interests of active duty, retired, Reserve and National Guard personnel of the uniformed services and their dependents and survivors; to provide useful services for members and their dependents and survivors; and serve the comunity and nation.

Information on Joining the Chapter

Membership in the Olympia Area MOAA Chapter is open to anyone who holds or has ever held a commission or warrant in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and their surviving spouses. The membershp chairman is CWO3 (Ret) Jim Richards. Send an email to him at slimrjc@aol.com and request a membership application. Current chapter dues are $20 per year for officers and $10 for auxiliary members. The balance of the year of application is free with dues in effect for the following full year.

Chapter Activities

Chapter membership meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month. Guest speakers are from local military units, state and local government and member presentations. Jan, Feb and Mar are luncheon meetings at the Chambers House Restaurant of Panorama City, Lacey, WA, beginning at 11:30 AM. For Apr through Nov, meetings are in the evening, beginning at 5:30 PM at the Chambers House Restaurant. The Christmas meeting is on 17 Dec at 1130 at the Indian Summer Golf Club. The chapter Board of Directors meets in the Seattle Room at Panorama City at 3:00 PM on the second Tuesday of every month. Members are welcome to attend.

About Our Chapter

The Olympia Area Chapter serves military officers in the area ranging from Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) south to Chehalis, WA and west to the Gray's Harbor area. Among the 150-plus members are officers on active duty as well as veterans and their survivors. The chapter publishes a monthly news letter, The Bugle.
