President’s Message: Call for MOAA Resolutions

President’s Message: Call for MOAA Resolutions

I continue to be impressed by the level of engagement from our members across the nation and overseas. You continue to make a significant difference in our advocacy efforts, most recently leading to MOAA’s recognition as a Top Lobbyist by The Hill news outlet here in the Washington, D.C., area – this is the 15th year in a row to receive this recognition.

Engaged members are essential to our continued success, and as you can imagine there is still plenty of work to do as we head into 2022. Please check out our legislative priorities and continue supporting our efforts to protect the pay and benefits of our servicemembers past and present, their families and survivors, from all eight of our uniformed services.

As a member-driven association, MOAA seeks your voice on advocacy matters and on issues that directly impact the operations of the association. To that end, we seek your inputs to our biennial review of resolutions. You can find the current resolutions at this link.

Any member may propose a new resolution, or a change to an existing resolution, which addresses a legislative or management issue related to MOAA’s mission and goals. This opportunity to present a new resolution or amend an existing resolution is intended to address MOAA-wide priorities and for the good of the association’s mission, not to advance any personal agendas. With that in mind, please focus on resolutions that are nonpartisan and do not advance divisive social issues.

A special committee on resolutions will review all submissions for the Board of Directors in preparation for the final draft to be circulated to our membership for approval via the Military Officer magazine in August. Please email your inputs to msc@moaa.org no later than March 16.

Thank you, we look forward to hearing from you and I wish you well.

Lt. Gen. Dana T. Atkins, USAF (Ret)
President
