Capt. Jose Ybanez, USA, commissioned as a second lieutenant in 2013 through the St. Mary’s University ROTC program with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University and a Master of Public Policy from George Mason University. 

He entered the service as an Air Defense Artillery officer where he served as a platoon leader and executive officer of a Patriot battery. He had the opportunity to lead as a battery commander deployed in support of Operation Spartan Shield. Currently, Capt. Ybanez is assigned to U.S. Army Forces Command at Ft. Bragg, NC as a Force Management officer. He resides with his wife and two dogs.
