Capt. Darius Izad, USAF

Capt Darius Izad, USAF, commissioned in 2018 through ROTC at the University of Washington, where he attended law school. He received a Master's in Asian Studies with an emphasis in Chinese security studies from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service in 2015, and received his Bachelor's from Hamilton College, where he majored in Chinese.

 

As a judge advocate, Capt Izad has served as a military justice attorney at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas; deployed to Joint Task Force Guantanamo in 2020, where he provided litigation support to both the 9/11 Trial Prosecution and Defense teams; and served as defense counsel at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. 

 

He currently studies at the Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, where he will receive an advanced degree in government procurement law. In May 2025, he will be assigned to Joint Base Andrews, Md., in the Air Force’s contract and fiscal directorate. He currently serves as Secretary of the MOAA Judge Advocate Virtual Chapter. He and his wife reside in Washington, D.C.
